Man's Neck Cut With Machete During Fight: Police

Man, friend drive away after being attacked with a large knife, police say

A man is in serious condition after his throat was slashed with a machete during an altercation at a Fort Worth game room, police say.

According to police, officers were called at about 7 a.m. to the intersection of North Main Street and Meacham Boulevard where they found the passenger of a stopped vehicle suffering from a severe cut to his neck.

The victim told police he and the driver of the car were at a game room in North Fort Worth off Business U.S. Highway 287 and Heritage Trace Parkway when they witnessed an altercation between two groups of people.

The victim told police they were not involved in the altercation, but an Asian man with a large knife, described as a machete, attacked them in the parking lot.

The men then left the scene, driving several miles before stopping in the roadway.

The victim was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in serious condition, though Medstar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said the man is expected to survive.

Police said they are searching for the attacker, who remains at large.
