Police Shoot Man Accused of Stabbing UPS Driver

Fort Worth police used a Taser device and shot a man who allegedly repeatedly stabbed a female UPS driver at an apartment complex.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the man and the woman were in critical condition Monday at two hospitals.

Fort Worth police spokesman Sgt. Chad Mahaffey said officers responded to a stabbing Monday afternoon. The newspaper reported witnesses said the suspect allegedly stabbed the woman repeatedly in her back and then chased the woman after she broke free and ran.

Police used a Taser device on the man after he reportedly refused to drop a knife. An officer used his service weapon to shoot the man after he charged an officer.

The officer who deployed the Taser device suffered minor injuries.
