Dallas police said the woman called 911 and reported that she had broken into the Golden Chick in the 3000 block of West Northwest Highway at 4:41 a.m.

Police said they arrived and found the woman armed with a knife. Officers told the woman to drop the knife, but she declined. They then tried to use a stun gun on the woman, but she was not subdued.

The woman then raised the knife at the officers in a "threatening manner," according to police. An officer then shot the woman.

Police said the woman was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.

No officers were injured in the shooting, according to officials.

The officer who fired the shots was placed on routine administrative leave.

Dallas police say an officer shot a man when the man pulled out a gun while officers were serving a narcotics warrant at a home Thursday evening.
