Police: Security Guard Fatally Shoots Man in San Antonio

A 20-year-old man has been fatally shot by a security guard in San Antonio.

According to San Antonio police Sgt. Steve Almanza, the security guard saw a man breaking into vehicles in front of a strip mall around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Almanza said the guard was walking to confront the man, when the man tried to run the guard over with a vehicle.

Authorities say the guard fired shots at the man, who continued driving to the center of the mall before crashing into another vehicle parked in front of a bingo hall.

Almanza said the man died at the scene, and a woman who was inside the vehicle was taken to a police station for questioning. Police have not released the man's name.
