A construction worker who was run over by a hit-and-run driver has died.
McKinney police said 51-year-old Jose Rivera died on Thursday, Jan. 18.
Rivera and two co-workers were working on a sidewalk on Stacy Road, between Alma and Ridge roads, when an SUV veered off the road and struck them.
Rivera was transported to Medical City McKinney, then transferred to Plano Medical Center, where he later died. The other two workers suffered minor injuries.
Brandon Tran, 17, was arrested Saturday morning.
Investigators say Tran admitted to driving the car and also told detectives he thought he hit a sign and panicked.
Tran was arrested and taken to the Collin County Jail. He's charged with three counts of felony accident involving personal injury or death.
