A beagle is safe thanks to a couple of Dallas police officers.
Officers Brian Nolff and Tomica McCloud were working with Crisis Intervention, which helps provide services to the homeless, at an abandoned homeless encampment when they stumbled upon a dog.
He was tied to a tree with no food or water.
With the help of Duck Team 6, a street dog rescue group, officers were able to rescue the pooch, named Eli.
Officers say Eli is a friendly and playful dog. And now he needs a new, forever home.
He has been micro-chipped and given all of his shots.
