Dallas police said a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Interstate 35E overnight.
Investigators are trying to determine what the person was doing before being struck on the northbound lanes of I-35E near Mockingbird Lane at about 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said they found a stalled vehicle in the southbound lanes of the interstate near the site of the wreck, but they don't know if it is connected to the victim.
The driver who struck the pedestrian told NBC 5 he was not injured. He said police released him from the scene of the wreck at about 5 a.m.
The wreck shut the freeway down for nearly two hours, but all lanes have since reopened.
