Detectives are investigating after finding a man dead outside a DeSoto apartment complex Thursday morning, authorities said.[[288696091,L]]
At 4:44 a.m., DeSoto police responded to a shots fired call at the Pecan Crossing Apartments in the 1200 block of East Pleasant Run Road, but didn't find anything.
Then, at 5:16 a.m., officers returned to the apartments after a witness reported a person lying on the ground. Police said they found a deceased man who had sustained a gunshot wound.
Police have not released the man's identity, but they said he appeared to be in his late 30s.
