Police Look for Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

Dallas police are looking for the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian then drove off Wednesday night.

Police said the driver was traveling south on the 3000 block of South Buckner Boulevard near Scyene Road, when 59-year-old Willie Nolen Jr. was struck at about 11 p.m.

Nolen was not in a crosswalk when he was hit, police said.

Employees of a nearby gas station say police gathered surveillance video from their cameras, but it remains unclear if any of the cameras were able to capture the hit-and-run.

Police have not released a vehicle or driver description.

Nolen's family says with so many questions it's hard to get closure.

"I wasn't angry, but I was more hurt than anything," said his sister, Adrian Nolen. "But I'm getting angry about it by the minute because we don't know who done it."

The man's family is pleading with the person responsible to turn himself in to police.

"It's very heart breaking, very heart breaking. And I just wish whoever did it will come forth and so we can get justice and closure," said sister Debra Nolen.

Willie Nolen Jr. was the eldest of three sisters, and they described him as quiet, but very friendly.

He lived alone in an apartment nearby, and one of his sisters said he like to go out and walk around at night.

His family thinks he may have been going to a gas station on the corner when he was hit.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Dallas Police Department.
