It happened just after 3:00am in the 4300 block of Bisbee Street.
Department spokesperson Captain Jerry Cozby said officers were already on Bisbee responding to a fatal wreck, when they heard tires screeching.
They drove down the road to investigate and found a white Ford F150 in a ditch and silver Honda Accord parked next to it on the road.
"They located a female who had been shot once in the back or side and they found a male who had been shot once in the shoulder," said Cozby. "They were both transported to the hospital with what we're told are non-life threatening injuries."
Officers also found a second male at the scene. He was not injured and was detained by police for questioning.
"At this point, we don't know who he is or how he's related to the incident," said Cozby.
