2 Arrests Made in Deadly Frisco Shooting

Police in Frisco say they have made two arrests in the deadly Dec. 26 shooting of a 22-year-old man at an apartment complex.

Frisco police found the shooting victim, Anthony Morehead, already dead in the courtyard of Republic House at Frisco Bridges complex, when they responded to a report of gunshots at 7:48 a.m. Dec. 26.[[503503851,R]]

Police said they arrested Rasheed Kilpatrick Sunday for murder and Derek Carr Wednesday for tampering with physical evidence.

Kilpatrick is being held at the Collin County Jail on $500,000 bond, as well as on a second $500,000 bond for a probation violation for an aggravated robbery charge. Carr is being held on $250,000 bond.

"Due to patrol's quick thinking and great initial response, this investigation moved quickly," Frisco police chief John W. Bruce said. "The management of the crime scene and subsequent canvas and identification of possible witnesses and suspects helped tremendously. I am very pleased that the suspects have been taken into custody."

Video from Texas Sky Ranger on Dec. 26 showed investigators focusing their attention on a blue Ford Mustang parked along the outer edge of the complex. Investigators surrounded the immediate area with crime scene tape and processed the scene for evidence.

"We're talking to possible witnesses that were in the area to try to put together as many pieces as we can so we can figure out what’s happening," officer James Willis said Dec. 26.

At the time, police assured residents that the shooting was an isolated incident and there was no danger to the public.
