Police Investigate 3rd Deadly Arlington Shooting in 24-Hour Span

Police said the incidents are not related

An Arlington man was shot dead in his front yard Monday afternoon, the victim of the city's third fatal shooting in less than 24 hours.

According to Arlington police, officers found the man at about 4:30 p.m. with apparent gunshot wounds in the driveway and front yard of his home on the 600 block of Rosarita Road.

The man, identified Tuesday as 29-year-old Juriah Fields, was transported to Medical City Arlington where he later died.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and investigators have not released a motive for the shooting or named any suspects.

The fatal shooting is the third to take place in Arlington over a 12-hour period. Arlington police are also investigating the deaths of two other men, 27-year-old Christian Cruz, who was shot and killed at the Indian Creek Apartments at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, and a 40-year-old man shot and killed at about 11:45 p.m. along East Park Row.

Police arrested Reymund Ruiz and charged him with murder in connection with Cruz's death. The victim of the Park Row shooting has not been identifed and no arrests have been made. Police said Monday they do not believe the shootings are connected.
