Police finally caught a local business owner accused of stealing thousands from customers across at least three North Texas counties.
For more than a year, customers complained he took payment upfront and never showed up with the product. Troy Hagar Jr. called his business Lone Star Windows.
Arrest documents show he had seven felony warrants in three counties.
Last November, NBC5 Responds brought you the stories of two of his customers, Aman Pahwa and Libby Raph. Both lost more than a thousand dollars after paying Hagar for windows and siding. They say after Hagar got their money and stopped returning their phone calls.
No one could find him, but last November NBC5 Responds tracked him down outside his new job. Hagar promised to pay everyone back and said he wasn't running from police.
"I'm gonna call them right now and if they have any issues I'm going to get this taken care of," Hagar said.
But police say he didn't turn himself in. Instead, he started a new business. But current and former customers formed a Facebook group. A member of that group contacted NBC5 Responds the police. And this weekend Hagar was arrested in Forney. He's facing felony theft and check charges.
