Pilot, Passenger Survive West Texas Crash of Vintage Plane

Authorities say a restored Korean War-era plane has crashed while attempting to land at a West Texas airport but both people on board survived.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the crash happened Tuesday morning near Stephens County Airport in Breckenridge, about 90 miles (145 kilometers) west of Fort Worth.

FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford says preliminary information indicates the single-engine Hawker Sea Fury lost power and crashed short of the runway.

Lunsford says the fuselage broke apart on impact. The pilot was transported to a hospital, while the passenger was uninjured.

Further details weren't immediately available.
