Perry to Give Top Medal to Fallen Marine's Family

Texas governor and Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry is presenting the state's highest military decoration to the family of a soldier killed in Vietnam.

Perry on Thursday is scheduled to give the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor to the family of Cpl. Roy Cisneros. The ceremony will take place at a San Antonio elementary already named after the fallen Marine.

Cisneros becomes only the eighth Texan awarded the honor. He died in 1968 while saving the lives of his squad members in Vietnam.

Perry was also in San Antonio earlier this week to address the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the group's annual convention. He's lately been crisscrossing the state and country while raising money and campaigning for his presidential bid.
