Part of Student-Made Art Collapses at San Antonio Park

Part of a sculpture designed and erected at a San Antonio park as a project by graduate students in architecture has collapsed.

The San Antonio Express-News reports crews put caution tape around the toppled dome structure called "F2" (F-squared).

The sculpture, which partially collapsed Monday, was designed and built by University of Texas at San Antonio graduate students this past semester.

The artwork was unveiled June 6 at Travis Park. Students put together a grid shell structure similar to a free-form dome.

Messages left Tuesday with a UTSA architecture official were not immediately returned.
