In a press release issued on Tuesday, Parker Road beneath the Dallas North Tollway will be closed nightly from May 24 through June 6 for the "DNT Improvement Project" according to the North Texas Toll Authority.
The following changes will be implemented every evening from 8 p.m. through 5 a.m. today until June 6:
- Westbound traffic detour: Drivers will turn right onto northbound Dallas Parkway and take a left to Windhaven Parkway. Then take another left onto southbound Dallas Parkway and continue south to their destination.
- Eastbound traffic detour: Motorists will turn right onto southbound Dallas Parkway and take a left to Chapel Hill Boulevard. Next they will take another left onto northbound Dallas Parkway and continue north to their destination.
The Construction work will add an additional lane in each direction of the DNT from the Sam Rayburn Tollway to the President George Bush Turnpike.
NTTA said delays are expected in this area and drivers should use cation when traveling on this route.
