Driver Dies After Rock Hauler Crushes Car

A 40-year-old woman was killed Tuesday after a rock hauler overturned, crushing her vehicle at Highway 183 and Industrial Boulevard in Euless, police said.

The wreck happened at about 11 a.m. as the truck driver was traveling westbound on the service road of Highway 183 and tried to make a left turn to go southbound on Industrial Boulevard.  The truck struck a southbound blue Chevrolet in the intersection and rolled over with its trailer landing on the car,  Lt. John Williams said.

The woman was killed instantly, police said.  The truck driver and passenger were taken to HEB hospital with minor injuries.

Police identified the victim as Debbie Kaye, of Hurst, and said the driver of the truck was Freddie Richardson, a 46-year-old Dallas resident.

The Industrial Boulevard exit from Highway183 and the southbound lane of Industrial Boulevard was closed for several hours as investigators surveyed the accident scene. Chopper 5 video showed a large pile of sand spilled out on the road from the overturned truck.

Four days ago, a rock hauler rolled over and crushed a car on Interstate 35E in Dallas. Firefighters extricated the driver, who was critically injured, and the passenger escaped without serious injury.
