Overnight Fire at Dallas Motel

Dozens of people were forced out into the cold overnight because of a motel fire in Dallas.

It happened at the Love Field Inn in the 3100 block of West Mockingbird Ln. just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

Before firefighters arrived pepole staying at the motel ran door-to-door waking up neighbors, in all 13 people were rescued.

25 people were affected because power to the entire motel was shut off while firefighters battled the flames. Without electricity people staying at the motel didn't have heat to stay warm.

The fast moving fire damaged 20 units, although many of those units were not occupied.

Dallas Fire-Rescue called in extra manpower to help fight the flames, it took nearly two hours to put the fire out.

No word yet on how the fire started and no injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross helped everyone displaced by the fire.
