Authorities said a 23-year-old man was arrested after a fatal crash on Interstate 35E in Dallas early Friday morning.
Dallas County Sheriff's deputies said a sedan and an SUV were involved in a crash on southbound I-35E near the East Saner Avenue overpass at about 3 a.m. One of the vehicles caught fire after the crash.
One person in the vehicle that caught fire was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.
Authorities said a woman was also transported Methodist Charlton Medical Center in unknown condition.
One of the drivers was arrested for intoxication manslaughter. Sheriff's deputies said he will be transferred to jail after he is released from Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Only the far left lane of southbound I-35E was open during the investigation.
