Police said a 61-year-old man was fatally shot at a Dallas motel late Monday night. [[381355051,C]]
Dallas police said they responded to the Days Inn Dallas DFW in the 8300 block of South Lancaster Road at 11:24 p.m. after guests reported hearing gunshots.
When officers arrived, they found the victim -- later identified as David Haskell Sparks -- lying near the doorway of a second-floor room.
No arrests have been made.
Investigators said people who were in the area at the time of the shooting provided them with little information.
