Oklahoma Man Wanted for Father's Murder Arrested in Roanoke

A man wanted in connection with his father's stabbing death was arrested early Wednesday in Roanoke, police say.

Jacob Barber of Moore, Oklahoma, was booked into the Roanoke jail on a charge of murder, according to jail records.

Roanoke police arrested Barber shortly after midnight after officers were called to investigate a suspicious person seen sleeping outside a PetSmart. The officers ran his name in a background check and discovered he was wanted for murder.

Authorities say the body of 48-year-old Glenn Barber was found in his Moore, Oklahoma, home Sunday after he failed to arrive for church. KFOR-TV reports Barber was active with a Moore-area children's camp and had worked for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma.

Barber, 21, is being held in the Denton County jail and is awaiting extradition to Oklahoma.

Online jail records don't indicate whether Barber has an attorney to speak on his behalf.
