A Dallas police officer is hospitalized after getting into a fight with a homeless person near Royal Lane and Central Expressway Wednesday.
The incident took place at about 1:45 p.m., the department said.
The officer was working the city's Office of Homeless Solutions when the interaction turned physical.
The department said the officer was transported as a precaution.
No further details have been confirmed by the Dallas police.
