Missing North Richland Hills Man Found in Trinity River

84-year-old James Booth went missing Wednesday, February 21 after he didn't show up for a doctor's appointment

North Richland Hills police have confirmed that a man missing since February has been found deceased inside his vehicle in the Trinity River.

On August 7, dive teams positively located and identified the vehicle of missing North Richland Hills resident, James Booth. The vehicle was located in Dallas, downstream from the area the NRH police department had received reports of a white sedan in the river on February 21, 2018.

On August 8, crews recovered the vehicle and found Booth inside. On August 9, the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office positively identified the man as James Booth. No foul play is suspected in the case.

In February, police said James Booth never showed up for an appointment and was last seen in the area of Mid Cities Boulevard and Ice House Drive at about 9 a.m.

Booth's family said at the time he may have been in the early stages of Alzheimer's or dementia and did not have his phone with him.
