Not a Misprint, Yu Darvish Hits a Home Run

The Rangers ace hit a home run in Cincinnati and made franchise history in the process.

Yu Darvish is used to making Texas Rangers franchise history due to his incredible arm strength and skill-set.

However, this time he's in the record books for one swing of the bat.

In the team's final inter-league game of the season, Darvish stepped to the plate in Cincinnati and smashed a fifth inning home run to opposite field.

He's the second Texas pitcher to hit a home run, and the first to do it since Bobby Witt in 1997.

Darvish's smash was not of the lucky, cheap variety. His home run ball traveled 410-feet to the opposite field. At the time, it snapped a 3-all tie and gave the Rangers a lead.

The Rangers ace gave up a pair of runs following his homer, which allowed Cincinnati to eventually tie the game up. Darvish didn't get the win, but his team did 6-5.
