A Northwest ISD school board member is facing possession of child pornography charges. Mel Fuller was arrested by Trophy Club police on Tuesday.
Investigators say a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the arrest.
Fuller was elected as the Place 7 trustee in 2008.
The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees says they were notified of Fuller's resignation on Wednesday.
The Dallas Morning News reports that officers interviewed Fuller on August 31 and even seized some electronic devices from his home.
The school board says it is now discussing options on how to fill the vacancy.
