The inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump is upon us and many North Texans are heading to Washington to be a part of the action.
There were flights heading from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Washington, D.C., nearly every hour throughout the day on Thursday. Many of those flights had passengers with opposing views – those bound for the inauguration and for the Women's March on Washington the day after.
"We're heading to D.C. today to be a part of the inauguration," said Brian Bell.
He and his 11-year-old daughter, Conally Bell, will have a special view, from the office of Conally's grandfather, U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas.
"It's just a good opportunity to see how the system works," Bell said.
"I think we might learn that there are people who are different in the world and some people agree on stuff and others might not," Conally added.
Virginia Hoft is in the "does not agree" category. She's going to the Women's March on Washington the day after the inauguration.

"I have a daughter who lives there, and we're going to the march together and I'm so excited to see young people mobilized again, to see women mobilized again," Hoft said.
For both sides, it's a chance to be a part of history.
"This election has been so controversial that even more so, you just want to go and kind of see it," said Trump supporter, Roberta Shapiro.
Shapiro is going to get as close as she can to the inauguration and she already has big ideas for next week as well.
"Well, I have his week planned out," said Shapiro. "On Monday, I would like to see something about the health care. I know a lot of folks who really need help with that."
Their different hopes are lifting up on the journey to a new president.
"I'll respect what he does and let's hope he does well," said traveler Beverly Vowels.
