North Texan Will Have Big Episode on American Ninja Warrior

Karsten Williams' community service to be featured on Monday

Plano native Karsten Williams is on his fourth season with NBC's American Ninja Warrior. While he cannot reveal the results of the Oklahoma City final that will air on Monday night, Williams did say his community service with Samaritan Inn will be highlighted.

Williams, a personal trainer at Lifetime Fitness, mentored a teenager through health and fitness.

"American Ninja Warrior has give me some purpose in life," Williams said. "When I came out of high school, I didn't really have a plan. I really didn't know what I wanted to do in life."

The Samaritan Inn is A McKinney homeless shelter which helps individuals and families gain independence. On a typical night, 160 people sleep at the shelter and 60 are children, according to the Samaritan Inn website.

"I want to hear other people's story and how they're overcoming obstacles," Williams said. "I want to hear about that stuff because that's what I feed off."

Williams, who trains five days a week, has also been selected as a team captain for Season 2 of Team Ninja Warrior. Taping for the show begins in a few weeks.

"Your dedication has to be a hundred percent. You have to train when you don't want to, you have to push yourself when you can't go any further," Williams said. "With the pressure and the cameras, you have to be able to bring your best game."

Williams trains at Lifetime Fitness in McKinney and Obstacle Warriors in Farmers Branch.
