The market of cellulite reduction devices reaches into the tens of millions, and now there's another technology promising to smooth out the dimpled, uneven skin.
Venus Legacy uses radio frequency to decrease cellulite, reduce circumference, increase skin tightening and improve stretch marks, according to Dr. Farah Khan, of Khan Plastic Surgery in Dallas.
"Cellulite is the common enemy or most women, and it's such a hard problem to fix. Here we have an non-invasive method that gets really good results, so why not?" Khan said.
The device produces heat under the skin's surface, causing a thermal reaction in the tissue, which stimulates the body's natural healing response.
"Young skin has a lot of collagen and it has a lot of elastin, so the more that we can promote its growth the better your skin looks," Khan said.
Shannon Prager, of Dallas, hopes the eight treatment process hides the look of cellulite on her legs.
"I'm in my early 40s and gravity has taken over in the butt, and there are areas at the back of the arm that, as much as I do, I just can't get them as well as I want them," Prager said.

The cost of the treatment ranges from $2,000 to $3,000, depending on the area of the body getting treatment, Khan said.
She says the results can last years.
