Nasher Sculpture Center ‘Goes Greek'

"Elliott Hundley: The Bacchae" Exhibit Begins

Billboard sized artwork that promises to take you back in time is now on display at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Downtown Dallas.

"Elliott Hundley: The Bacchae" consists of 12 pieces which examine the Greek Tragedy "The Bacchae" which dates back to 406 B.C.

"His work is distinguished because it is materially, incredibly rich," Jed Morse, Nasher Sculpture Center Curator said. "So many different materials, straws, pins, beads, buttons. Lots and lots of photographs that he took in his studio and has coll-aged on these enormous, billboard sized wall reliefs."

The exhibition runs now through April 22.

"The thing that impresses me most about Elliott Hundley's work, is the way he can take so much visual information and compose it in a way that is both beautiful and easily intelligible," Morse said.
