Must See & Do: Paddle Boarding in Las Colinas is Another Hidden Gem in North Texas

While the canals look pretty tame, there are some really fun spots to explore.

This summer we've been checking out hidden gems in North Texas that you might be aware of or if you're new to the area you may not have known about.

Las Colinas is an area a lot of people have heard of, with lots of great shops, restaurants and a pretty outdoor environment.

But did you know you can also go paddle boarding in Las Colinas? It's a favorite pastime for those in the know on Lake Carolyn.

Kevin Burt from Stand Up Paddle North Texas told us it can be really enjoyable for everyone from beginners to experts.

He says that while the canals look pretty tame, there are some really fun spots to explore.

"There are 60 feet fountains, on the other side of northwest highway," he said. "You have to go through a tunnel and it's very refreshing because the water goes pretty deep here, 65 feet. It brings that water out and blows it up 60 feet high, and you can paddle under them and get a bath."

If you want to check it out, it's $25 and hour or $40 for two hours. Lessons are also available.
