Grapevine police are searching for a man accused of inappropriately touching at least four girls ranging in age from 8 to 14 years old inside a movie theater.
The victims said the man brushed up against them then groped them inside the Tinsel Town Movie Theater, Grapevine Police Lt. Todd Dearing said.
"He comes in and sits down next to them in an open seat with their parents right next to them and begins touching them," Dearing said.
Police said the incidents have taken place over the past six months inside the dark theater.
"The last attack occurred on Saturday and he actually grabbed the girl's breasts and buttocks," Dearing said.
One victim, who asked not to be identified, said the man put a jacket between them and began touching her leg. She left to call police, but by the time officers arrived the man was gone.
"It's scary, but it all happened with in a minute, I left right away," she said. "Girls need to be aware of who is around them in a dark theater," she said.
Police said when the man is confronted he pretends to answer his phone and quickly leaves the theater.
Grapevine investigators have informed other police departments around North Texas of the assaults, but no other departments had any reports of similar crimes.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40s or early 50s with silver hair. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs between 155 to 170 pounds with a receding hairline and a hooked nose, police said.
