Motorcycle Driver Injured in Crash on High Five Ramp in Dallas

Police said a 43-year-old man was injured in a motorcycle crash that shut down a High Five ramp in Dallas Wednesday morning.

Authorities said the motorcycle driver was ejected in the crash and fell from the ramp from westbound Interstate 635 to northbound U.S. 75 at about 3:30 a.m.

Investigators said evidence indicates the motorycyclist lost control on a curve, fell off the motorcycle, slid down the ramp and came to rest near the barrier wall.

Responding firefighters and paramedics searched for nearly 45 minutes, but could not find the victim. A Dallas police helicopter later spotted the man.

Police said the motorcyclist was transported to Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas with serious injuries.

The ramp from I-635 to U.S. 75 was shut down until about 5 a.m. while authorities worked the crash.
