A Lewisville middle school archery team has its eyes on the ultimate target.
The Lamar Middle School team is headed to the National Archery in the Schools Program Nationals in Kentucky this weekend.
"We are very serious about it," Nicholas McElhone said.
"I'm a little nervous, but I'll get over it," Audrey Stoltz said.
Archers are hot at the box office this year, and the sport is gaining in popularity. The year's two biggest movies, "The Hunger Games" and "The Avengers," feature characters with bows and arrows. And the main character of Pixar's "The Brave," which will be released next month, is also an archer.
Ferris Bavousett, who has been coaching archery for years, said he is pleased the sport is now the cool thing to do.
"Archery is growing at a fantastic rate, really," he said. "More and more kids are getting involved in it."

But as they gear up for nationals, the Lamar team is focused -- not on the hype, but on the sport.
"It's a real big deal, real big deal," Bavousett said.
