Man's Body Recovered from White Rock Lake

High winds sweep men off of surfboards, into water

The body of a 55-year-old man was recovered by Dallas Fire-Rescue Sunday morning.

The man and his 21-year-old son were thrown from their surfboards at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday as high winds blew across White Rock Lake.

The younger man was able to swim to shore while the father was reported to have gone under. 

DFR divers and rescue boats searched for the man until nightfall when the search was suspended.

The man's body was found at about 7:40 a.m. Sunday.

The father and son, whose names have not yet been released, were visiting DFW from the Tyler area.
