The body of an 82-year-old man who had been reported missing by his family earlier in the day has been recovered Monday from a Greenville reservoir, officials say.
Greenville police have identified the man as 82-year-old Larce Drewery Jones.
Jones' family reported him missing after he never arrived for an 11 a.m. doctor's appointment, according to Greenville city spokeswoman Autumn Barton.
Family members then found his vehicle at the entrance to Reservoir #4 off North Rees Street, and police located the Jones' body in the channel to the north of the reservoir entrance, Barton said in a statement Monday evening.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
