Man with BB Gun Fatally Shot by El Paso Police

El Paso police say a man was fatally shot by officers after running toward them waving what turned out to be a BB gun.

Police say 33-year-old Arthur Williams Jr. was shot by officers responding to a domestic violence call at a home Monday. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police say officers tried to talk him into leaving the home but he responded that he was armed with a handgun and would not come out. The man then ran out of the home toward officers, waving the weapon and ignoring officers' commands to drop it.

Police say two officers fired on Williams, who was struck and disarmed of what turned out to be a BB gun.

Authorities are investigating. The officers are on administrative leave.
