A man has been arrested after authorities say he targeted college-age women in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas and coaxed them into prostitution.
According to San Antonio police spokesman Douglas Greene, a 38-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of aggravated promotion of prostitution. Greene said authorities believe the suspect forced up to 30 women into prostitution.
Greene said the man went to college campuses to try and lure women to work for him with the promise of making a lot of money. According to Greene, the suspect would also lure women through Internet ads.
Police said once the women were employed, the suspect would use intimidation to keep them working for him.
San Antonio police worked with the Texas Attorney General's Office and police departments in Austin and Dallas as part of a 6-month investigation.
