Woman Says She Staged Invasion After Suicide

ME to determine if man's death was a suicide or homicide

The death of a Keller man who was shot and killed early Thursday morning is under investigation by homicide detectives.

In the original story, Michelle Williams said an intruder broke into their home at about 4:40 a.m., hit her in the face, fatally shot her husband Greg and then ran out of the home through a back door.

The couple's 4-year-old daughter, who was asleep on the couch at the time, never woke through the entire ordeal.

During the investigation, Lt. Brenda Slovak, with the Keller Police Department, said a police dog was unable to pick up the scent of anyone else at the residence.

Michelle then changed her story and said she was on the couch with her little girl when she heard the gunshot come from the bedroom.

She then told police that her husband had committed suicide and that she had staged the break-in, including tampering with the back door, to make it appear as if someone had forcefully come into the home. She told police she also hit herself in the face with a wrench and cleaned the gun as well as her husband's hands before police arrived.

The woman said she did all of this so that her daughter wouldn't know her father had killed himself.

Investigators continued to interview the woman Thursday afternoon.  The child is with family members.

The Tarrant County medical examiner will determine if the man's death was a suicide or homicide.
