Man Sentenced for San Antonio's Biggest Jewelry Heist

An Oklahoma City man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for what investigators call San Antonio's most expensive jewelry robbery.

A federal judge in San Antonio on Monday sentenced 47-year-old Marvin Steele for his role in the March 2010 armed robbery of a Lee Michaels store. San Antonio police say two armed men wearing hoods robbed the jewelry store located in an upscale mall.

Investigators got a break when some of the stolen items showed up at pawnshops in Oklahoma City.

The San Antonio Express-News reports Steele earlier this year pleaded guilty two charges of interstate robbery and one weapons count in a plea deal. A co-defendant awaits trial.

The FBI and San Antonio police recovered about half of the jewelry.
