Man Recovered from Lake Ray Hubbard

The body of a 28-year-old man was recovered Sunday evening from Lake Ray Hubbard, according to Dallas police.

Dallas Fire Rescue recovered the remains around 6:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the man was with a group of friends jumping off a railroad bridge on the 6300 block of Miller Road in Rowlett. The man reportedly grabbed a rope that hung from the bridge, but witnesses said it broke and the man went into the water.

“I tried jumping down into the water, the water was really murky," said bystander Craig Weiss. "I couldn’t see anything and the current kept pushing me away so I couldn’t really get to him.”

The medical examiner has not released his name.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
