Body Pulled From Lake Arlington Identified

Arlington Fire recovered Phillip Poynter's body at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday

The body of a Balch Springs man who went missing Tuesday night under the water in Lake Arlington was recovered Wednesday morning, officials say.

The Arlington Fire Department and Game Wardens pulled the body of a 47-year-old man from the lake near where he fell in Tuesday.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the man as Phillip Poynter.

Tuesday night, the Arlington Fire Department called off its recovery efforts after the sun went down and resumed them at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Poynter's body was recovered at 8:50 a.m.

Authorities said it was unclear how Poynter ended up in the water when he fell off a boat.
