Teen Shot to Death Outside Garland Restaurant: Police

Garland police say a 17-year-old is dead after a shooting Thursday afternoon in the parking lot outside a restaurant, and a 15-year-old is suspected of pulling the trigger.

Police said the victim, identified as Ruben Trinidad, of Garland, was eating with friends at a Chili's located in the 3200 block of the President George Bush Turnpike North when he went outside to meet someone at about 3:30 p.m.

Police say Trinidad was then shot, and the gunman fled the area.

Trinidad was transported to a hospital where he died.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released the identity of the 15-year-old whom they believe is responsible in the shooting.
