A man has been injured after the glider plane he was flying crashed in a field north of Hempstead.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 67-year-old Thomas Hazel's glider plane crashed in a grassy field Sunday afternoon after he left the Soaring Club of Houston, a nonprofit gliding club near Waller.
The agency said he crashed about a mile northeast of Hempstead. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
His condition was not known.
Hempstead is about 53 miles northwest of Houston.
