A judge has sentenced a Dallas-area man to life in prison for killing his girlfriend in an act that authorities say included posting an image of the woman's lifeless body on social media.
State District Judge Scott Becker sentenced 46-year-old Kenneth Amyx on Wednesday.
The Dallas Morning News reported that Becker earlier in the day found Amyx guilty of murder in the stabbing death of 43-year-old Jennifer Streit-Spears.
The nonjury trial lasted just two days. Amyx during the course of testimony declared he was God.
Amyx had claimed he and Streit-Spears had formed a suicide pact last May at her Plano apartment after a day of drinking.
Authorities say he posted a photo of a bloodied Streit-Spears on her Facebook page and also texted an image to her mother.
