Police said a man is dead after two men shot him during a robbery attempt outside an Irving apartment complex Tuesday night. [[363349621,C]]
Irving police responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex in the 800 block of South Nursery Road at 7:22 p.m. and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the driveway.
The victim was immediately transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital, but he was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving.
Investigators determined that the victim and an acquaintance were talking in the parking lot when they were approached by two armed men who tried to rob them of their wallets.
Police said both victims began to fight back. One victim ran away during the struggle, at which point one of the armed men fired multiple shots at him.
Witnesses told police the armed men ran toward a dark-colored four-door car and drove away.
