Killeen police say a man has died after being found on a road suffering from a gunshot wound and a person has been taken into custody.
Police say officers found the wounded man in the road Sunday night. He was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries early Monday morning.
Police say their preliminary investigation revealed there was an altercation and at some point a gun was produced and the victim was shot. Officers located a man who was involved in the shooting and detained him. He was later taken into custody and transported to jail. Police say the name of the suspect has been withheld until formal charges are filed.
The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of his family.
An autopsy has been ordered.
