Police and a SWAT team responded to a situation where they say a man barricaded himself in an apartment near NorthPark Center on Saturday.
Dallas police say they originally responded to call about a man vandalizing a vehicle with weapons at the Village Westside apartment complex just after 7 a.m.
When police got there, a man was holding a bat and a large knife.
The man then went into his apartment and authorities treated the situation as a barricaded person, according to police.
SWAT tried to negotiate with the man, but he would not come out of his apartment. SWAT officers later entered the apartment and the man was taken into custody at about 1:20 p.m.
Police say no one was injured.
