Man Connected to Slain Teen Found in Burned Car

A man who found a teenage girl dead on his front porch last June was found dead in a burning car Sunday, police say.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Department said firefighters found the body of 44-year-old Robert Dodson Jr., Sunday night inside a vehicle that was on fire.

Investigators said Dodson's death was a homicide, but haven't specified his cause of his death.

Last June, Dodson found Claudia Hidic, 17, dead of a gunshot wound at the back door of his Fort Worth home. Police said the girl was caught in the crossfire of an attempted robbery that she planned

Dodson was not a suspect in connection with the Hidic's murder. Two men, Terrance Crumley and Curtis Fortenberry, have been charged with capital murder in connection with Hidic's death.

Coincidentally, Hidic, whose story made national headlines, would have celebrated her 18th birthday on Sunday, the Star-Telegram reported.
