Man Charged With Memphis Teen's Slaying

Grand Prairie police have charged a man in connection with the fatal shooting of a Memphis teenager in Arlington.

Bryant Jones, 20, was arrested in Grand Prairie on Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder, WREG-TV reports.

Sixteen-year-old Telefario Mitchell died of a gunshot wound to the head March 22. Mitchell, who lived with his father in Memphis, was visiting his mother in Arlington, Texas, over spring break.

Detective John Brimmer said Mitchell and a 16-year-old boy were shot in their car after leaving a party. They had been in a physical confrontation with another group of teens.

The other victim suffered a non-critical injury to his buttocks.
